INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION YEAR:
The International Foundation Year (IFY) is a program designed with our university partners to prepare you for first-year entry to multiple accredited and renowned universities abroad. Our IFY students have access to over 60 different universities and over 9,000 programs in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States of America.
Upon finishing the foundation year, ALA guarantees its students a seat in one of the leading university partners abroad.

Location:
The International Foundation year takes place on our ALC campus
located in the heart of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Our students begin their higher education journey by contacting our academic advisors who help with registration, academic guidance, course registration and even preparations for their journey abroad.
Duration:
There are two tracks for the IFY:
Normal Track
Starts in September
Fast Track
Starts in January
Both programs consist of academic modules and subjects related to the student’s chosen degree program. Our students will also have to show proof of English language proficiency to enroll in IFY and our ALA academic team will promptly assist and prepare our students for this requirement.

At the beginning of the IFY, you choose three academic subjects from the list below depending on which degree you want to study at university. You will also study one of our English for Academic Purposes modules which gives you the academic English language skills needed for university.

The entry requirements
- Student resides in Saudi Arabia
- Student has completed a general Secondary Education Certificate with a grade of 60% or more
- The age of the student applicant should be 17 years or older to enroll in the IFY
- Student applicants have passed the interview conducted by ALA.
- English proficiency proof ( ALA will assist and prepare its students for this requirement)

- High school diploma or equivalent
- National ID or residence
- Personal Photograph

The IFY is designed for students who have completed their high school education but do not meet the academic requirements for direct entry into a degree program at a university.
There are no entry exams needed to register for the IFY. Prospective students will only have to meet the entry requirements for IFY and fill in an application with an IFY academic advisor.

To register for the IFY:
- Contact our academic advisor.
- Fill in the registration and course form with the academic advisor.
- Receive a course schedule and start attending your classes.
- Students who successfully complete both their high school certificate and the IFY program each with a minimum GPA of 2.5 are guaranteed admission to many partner universities globally.
- No application essays are required.
- No SAT/ A-level/ IB scores required.
